Smoking Clean

Updated: Nov 8

If you are going to smoke cannabis — whether for personal reasons, ritual, religious use, recreation, alone at home or out with friends — there are a few simple steps you can take to reduce the harm that comes with smoking. Because let’s be honest: smoking anything has a cost. Yes, smoking cannabis remains the fastest and most direct way to deliver cannabinoids from the flower into the bloodstream and brain — but there are smarter ways to approach it.

1. Start With the Flower

Only smoke clean, organic, chemical-free cannabis.

This one change alone dramatically reduces the harmful compounds entering your body. Many street-grown buds are produced with chemical fertilisers, pesticides, PGRs, and other contaminants that you end up burning, inhaling, and absorbing into your bloodstream and brain.

Even pharmaceutical-grade cannabis isn’t automatically “clean.” If it’s been chemically boosted to increase yield or potency, those residues can remain in the final product.

The ideal?

  • Organically grown

  • Preferably outdoor, sun-grown

Cannabis grown naturally in clean soil and sunlight tends to be purer, more balanced, and more medicinally beneficial. We want the plant in its most natural state — not chemically altered, not contaminated, and not stripped of its original healing intelligence.

2. Don’t Mix With Tobacco

Avoid using cigarettes or tobacco in your joint.

Tobacco contains thousands of toxic chemicals (including known carcinogens and even rat poison). Mixing tobacco with cannabis doesn’t just “smooth out the burn” — it contaminates your body with an additional chemical load on top of the harmful byproducts already created through combustion.

Many people believe smoking pure cannabis is “too harsh,” but that harshness often comes from poor-quality, chemically-grown weed or from the body being used to tobacco. High-quality, organic cannabis can actually be very smooth, light on the lungs, and far less irritating.

Also, remember:

Tobacco is highly addictive. Mixing it with cannabis can hook you into nicotine dependency, leading to smoking cigarettes even when you’re not using cannabis. That means more health damage, zero benefit, and more money wasted.

3. Choose Hemp Rolling Papers

Use raw, unprocessed hemp rolling papers.

They’re lighter, thinner, burn cleanly, and come from the hemp plant — meaning you’re keeping the experience pure and supporting the hemp ecosystem rather than adding bleached or chemically-treated paper into your lungs.

Final Thought

These small changes can make a big difference. Choosing organic cannabis, ditching the tobacco, and using clean hemp papers can make your smoke sessions cleaner, lighter, more enjoyable, and far less damaging to your long-term health.

If you’re going to smoke — make it as clean, conscious, and respectful to your body as possible.
